Cattle ranch + Buddy

My friend invited us to go to see his cattle ranch last weekend. I thought back to when we were kids and other people would come and visit the farm and make comments like, "How fun!" or "How neat!" I thought, 'these people are crazy! This is constant work and drudgery.' As such, I was excited to go to my friend's ranch and say things like, "How fun!"
Little did I know that our purpose was to neuter little calves in addition to innoculating and branding all cows. I did not say, "How neat!" even once. It was interesting, and they made all of our food- which was amazing!
Overall, it was fun. The yicky part lasted for about 6 hours on Sat. and the rest of the time was just fun and eating. I have some pictures posted of people roping, Brian Mindrum trying to ride/tackle a calf, and more.

While I was gone my roommate, Julio, did not want Buddy to feel left out of the fun. So, he took Buddy on some hiking trips. On one of them Buddy was having such a good time he smiled with his teeth. That is the picture I put here. At another point in their hike they got up to what they thought was the peak- only to discover that there was another large hill after that. Buddy got up to the top, looked around, saw the next hill, and then turned to Julio and started pulling him downhill. He decided he was done for the day.

In other news, I am taking a train to Reno and then someone is going to pick me up there and take me to the timeshare in Lake Tahoe. Then, I will be riding home (to my car or the train station) with Mom and Dad. As a AAA memher the one-way ticket only cost $58.00- which is great considering my car would probably not have made it back home.

See you soon.

I live in Springdell...Again!

So, Trevor, Shelby and I have officially moved all of our stuffs into the "Pierson house" next door to Mom & Dad. How weird is that? We have been spending every single spair second moving, cleaning, fixing, etc. We have had soooooooo much help it's amazing. I am so darn exhausted. We have a great view of Timp from our bedroom. Every morning I have to retrain myself to NOT think of the Fisk's. It's hard, It is too weird to think of it as their house. Can I just tell you that Trevor is doing so fantastic. I don't mean to praise him like a child but, it has amazed me at how he is dealing with all of the house fixings and poopy interet connection. I know to most this seems silly but, to Trevor...electronics...internet...are so important. We have only begun to sacrifice things for this home.

The first night we slept there, the furnace stopped working. Which you may think is no big deal. But, it was the day after this last snow fall, in the canyon and it was about 45-50 degrees with no heat. Man, Shelby and I wore so many layers. Mom lent us her space heaters. Trevor of course was warm and cozy. He is literally a furnace.

I'll post pics of Mom's house before, in the middle and afters of the carpet remodel. That was sooo hard. So much time spent in Springdell this past month and a half. It's like I am a kid again. hee hee
